Ralph Faltinger, Plant Manager

"Our plant in Olifantsfontein profits from many years of experience in bus construction. This gives us the capability of producing MAN and VW buses with the highest quality standards for the South Africa market. New bus models are in development. We are extremely proud of our highly qualified employees. The working atmosphere is good, we hardly have any fluctuation. By the way: the longest bus in Africa with 27 metres was built in Olifantsfontein."

MAN Truck & Bus plant in Olifantsfontein

MAN Bus & Coach (Pty) Ltd was founded in 1999. The bus body assembly plant in Olifantsfontein is responsible for the design/engineering and production of MAN and VW buses for the South African market and surrounding countries. Most of the buses are built on front engine chassis, however the demand for rear engine buses in the market is increasing. With this demand the MAN Lion’s Intercity based on RR8 chassis was developed and is now produced, and the MAN A84 Lion’s City Bus has been industrialised in Olifantsfontein. In 2014 we will celebrate our 5000th bus been built at MAN Bus & Coach facility.
