MAN Truck & Bus
Eyecatcher The MAN eTGE station wagon shines in the original color of the club.
While other football clubs in Europe are busy searching for new players, FC Bayern Munich has welcomed a new arrival with a bright future. From now on, a MAN eTGE is in use for FC Bayern, making it the first electric commercial vehicle for the current German champions. With its eye-catching branding in the colours of FC Bayern and the same design as the team bus - a MAN Lion's Coach - the eTGE is a perfect fit for the club's vehicle fleet. Göran Nyberg, Executive Board Member for Sales & Customer Solutions at MAN Truck & Bus, personally delivered the eTGE to its new owner at the Säbener Straße and was delighted: "We are proud to be able to hand over our successful electric model to Germany's most successful football club.”
MAN Truck & Bus has been a partner of FC Bayern München since 2008 and has provided the club with a MAN Lion's Coach as a team bus, which is used by the first team to travel to all home and away matches. After the players and officials of FC Bayern were already provided with electric company cars a few months ago, the usage of the eTGE is another important step for the club. "This opens up a new chapter in FC Bayern's mobility and helps to improve the quality of the air in the city as it replaces an identical vehicle with an combustion engine.", explains Göran Nyberg and Andreas Jung, Board Member for Marketing & Sales at FC Bayern adds: "FC Bayern stands for a responsible approach to the environment and mobility. Together with MAN, we want to drive forward the transformation of mobility by integrating new forms of drive into everyday working life."

FC Bayern will use the MAN eTGE primarily for inner-city transport, but also for trips between the training centre in the south of Munich and the Allianz Arena and the youth training centre in the north of the city. On home match days of the first team, the emission-free vehicle will transport referees, staff and equipment, for example. With capacity for up to 8 passengers and a range of around 120 km, the vehicle is ideally equipped for this purpose. In addition, an impressive range of equipment fitted as standard, including the MAN Media Van Package Navigation, Air Conditioning Climatronic , Cruise Control, Rear-view Camera, LED-headlights, Emergency Brake Assist (EBA), Active Lane Assist and Park Steering Assist as well as Side Wall Protection Assist, ensures that the MAN eTGE not only gets to its destination quietly and eco-friendly, but also safely.

The specified fuel consumption and emission data has been determined according to the measurement procedures prescribed by law. Since 1st September 2017, certain new vehicles are already being type-approved according to the Worldwide Harmonized Light Vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP), a more realistic test procedure for measuring fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. It is currently still required by law to state the NEDC figures for vehicles for passenger transport with registration class M1. In the case of new vehicles which have been type-approved according to the WLTP, the NEDC figures are derived from the WLTP data. In cases where the NEDC figures are specified as value ranges, these do not refer to a particular individual vehicle and do not constitute part of the sales offering.
Additional equipment and accessories (e.g. add-on parts, different tyre formats, etc.) may change the relevant vehicle parameters, such as weight, rolling resistance and aerodynamics, and, in conjunction with weather and traffic conditions and individual driving style, may affect fuel consumption, electrical power consumption, CO2 emissions and the performance figures for the vehicle.
Efficiency classes rate vehicles for passenger transport with an M1 passenger vehicle registration, according to the CO2 emissions under consideration of the empty vehicle weight. Vehicles which conform to the average are classified as D. Vehicles which are above the current average are classified as A+, A, B or C. Vehicles which are below average are classified as E, F or G.
Additional information regarding the official fuel consumption, and the official specific CO2 emissions of new vehicles for passenger transport, with an M1 passenger vehicle registration, can be found in the “Guide on the fuel economy, CO2-Emissions, and power consumptions of all New Passenger Car Models”. This guideline is available free of charge at all sales points and from the DAT Deutsche Automobil Treuhand GmbH, Hellmuth-Hirth-Str. 1, 73760 Ostfildern-Scharnhausen, Germany. In vehicle classes N1, N2 and M2, coolant of the type R134a is used. MAN TGEs of vehicle class M1 require coolant of the type R1234yf. The GWP value of the coolant used is 1.430 (coolant type R134a) and 4 (coolant type R1234yf). The fill levels depend on the coolant compressor and varies between 560 - 590 grams.
