MAN Truck & Bus
On 27 August, the time had come: the Signal Iduna Park in Dortmund finally saw BVB compete against an opponent in front of fans again – and win the match against Hoffenheim 3:2 after an extremely exciting encounter. It goes without saying that die-hard BVB fan Frederik and his partner Janina were there celebrating the victory. But the evening only really got going for the two of them after the final whistle. They spent the night in the middle of the stadium in a brand new MAN TGX that fully gleamed in the black and yellow BVB design.
This special type of overnight stay was the main prize in a raffle that MAN had launched a few months ago. “Matts Hummels, Marcel Schmelzer and Marwin Hinz advertised it in a commercial at the time”, Frederik recalls. “So we just went along with it.” The winning couple were amazed at the size and eye-catching design of the 510-PS MAN TGX truck when they saw it. “It really is a beauty. You can look forward to spending a night in it”, says Janina, who had come along to the stadium for the first time.

The young couple were also impressed by the interior fit-out with its modern multimedia system, cosy sleeping bunk and efficient heating. The breathtaking view from the interior onto the pitch and stands was in any case spectacular.
“The night was ultimately a bit shorter after our exhilarating match, but luckily the TGX is well insulated and really comfortable, so we managed to get to sleep pretty quickly”, Frederik reported the next morning. After getting up, it was time for him and Janina to take a shower in the referee’s dressing room. Their brief stopover in the Signal Iduna Park was then rounded off by an extensive breakfast in one of the executive boxes and an exclusive tour of the stadium. Janina and Frederik felt it was a bit like an early honeymoon – the couple is getting married in September.
