Winners drive MAN

The 2021/22 season is over and MAN teams have a lot to celebrate. Here’s AN overview.

Hitting the road with MAN buses also means celebrating successes together! MAN bagged the double with RB Leipzig’s DFB Cup victory and FC Bayern’s latest championship win. What’s more, many other teams with links to MAN have also got grounds to celebrate.

But first things first! FC Bayern München have been crowned German football champions for the tenth season in succession. They secured the title in the usual way – in their red MAN team bus, of course! Just like their previous titles, this season was no different: MAN was right there with them. A perfect opportunity to look back at the last few years on video and pass on our congratulations.

MAN congratulates: FC Bayern has won the German championship again.

RB Leipzig completed the perfect “MAN Double” on Saturday, winning both the Championship and the Cup. The Saxon team’s 4-2 victory in the DFB Cup Final gave the team the chance to celebrate the first title in their relatively short club history. Congratulations!

It goes without saying that this was cause for a party. That’s why MAN Truck & Bus provided RB Leipzig with the MAN Korso truck for their journey through the city – a stage on wheels for the team, cheered on by thousands of fans in Leipzig. We followed the conversion of the truck in Leipzig:

Sadly, HSV didn’t quite get there, but the team still made a strong final sprint to make it to the relegation matches. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that Hamburger SV will be promoted next season, and their new MAN team bus will be heading to first division stadiums once more.

Even without a title or a promotion, there is still reason to be happy. As championship runners-up, Borussia Dortmund qualified for the Champions League alongside RB Leipzig. The final German Champions League entrant is Bayer Leverkusen. They’re not a MAN partner team, but next season will see them on the road in a MAN Lion’s Coach for the European stage.

Our long-time partner TSV 1860 München had been hoping for many months for promotion to the second Bundesliga, but unfortunately, they narrowly missed out in the end. However, a win on the last day of the season secured the team fourth place in the third league and qualification for the first round of next season’s DFB Cup.

It’s not just our partner teams that rely on our team buses. Many other teams do too, including FC Augsburg, VFL Wolfsburg and Werder Bremen, which celebrated direct promotion this season after a year in the second league.

MAN is a generally popular choice among the teams: more than half of them will be travelling in a MAN Lion’s coach next season. We can proudly claim, “MAN moves the Bundesliga!” And of course, we wish all the teams the best of luck for the coming season.
