MAN loyal to truck sport

MAN Nutzfahrzeuge remains committed to the FIA European Truck Racing Championships for the 2010 season.

Good news for truck sport fans: MAN Nutzfahrzeuge will also be taking part in next season's FIA European Truck Racing Championships. The successful MAN teams can thus continue counting on technical support from MAN Nutzfahrzeuge in 2010. "Truck motorsport is uniquely fascinating for many truck drivers and customers. This emotional environment provides us with a first-class means of presenting our brand and our dependable products. When we're at the race track we engage in discussions with those people who are fans of our brand and those who want to become fans," says Anton Weinmann, Chairman of the Executive Board of the MAN Nutzfahrzeuge Gruppe. With this early decision to continue the commitment to Truck Racing, the race organisers and the MAN teams have more security of planning. "At the same time we want to say a big thank you to the many fans who have been loyal to us and to the MAN teams over the years," Weinmann stresses. After six of ten races in the current Truck Racing season, the Spaniard Antonio Albacete in an MAN is leading in the drivers' standings, while MAN drivers Jochen Hahn (D), Egon Allgäuer (A) and Chris Levett (UK) follow in fourth, fifth and sixth places.

In future, all motorsport activities at MAN Nutzfahrzeuge will be consolidated in the Marketing Division under Björn Loose. This means that MAN teams, partners and sponsors now have a central contact person for their needs and interests.
